What is the WPC?
WPC stands for "Wood Plastic Composite", which translates as Wood and Plastic Composite.
WPC is a material composed of a mixture of wood and plastic fibers, usually polypropylene, polyethylene or PVC. This combination of materials provides unique properties that seek to combine the best of both worlds: the appearance and feel of natural wood with the strength and durability advantages of plastic.
How is your installation?
There are two types of installation. The main one is to fix the panels to the wall, ceiling or floor -depending on the reference and project- with accessories that adapt to the surface to intervene; Once attached to it, each panel will be attached to another with special anchors for this material until the space is complete. The second option is made with a special and durable adhesive. The choice between the first and second option is usually based on the surface on which the work will be done.
It should be noted that the WPC is an easy material to cut and adapt to store the space of electrical boxes, outlets, switches, among others; as well as accessories that keep the profile when turning in corners.
What care do you need?
Regular cleaning: You will only need a cloth to remove dust buildup, or a hose if you prefer.
If you need to remove grease or leftovers, lean on a mild liquid or detergent. Avoid anything strong and abrasive chemicals so as not to damage the surface.
Protect it from hot elements: Although WPC is a flame-retardant material and would not generate flame, it can be affected by contact with a powerful and prolonged heat source.
Proper drainage: Make sure there is good drainage around WPC areas, especially in applications such as terraces, to avoid water build-up that could cause problems.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions: Always follow the manufacturer’s specific instructions for care and maintenance of the WPC product you are using.
